The ACLU has launched a campaign called "We Have Rights." The "We Have Rights" campaign provides information to immigrant communities regarding interactions with Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE). The initiative aims to educate both immigrant communities and the general public about legal rights and procedures during immigration enforcement situations.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has partnered with Brooklyn Defender Services to produce educational videos based on real scenarios. These videos demonstrate proper procedures for various encounters with ICE, including home visits, community interactions, and arrests.
The educational content is available in seven languages, featuring voice work by Jesse Williams (English), Diane Guerrero (Spanish), Kumail Nanjiani (Urdu), Linda Sarsour (Arabic), Edwidge Danticat (Haitian Creole), Katya Lee (Russian), and Xiren Wang (Mandarin).
The first video addresses home visits by ICE agents. It outlines legal rights and procedures when ICE agents arrive at a residence, including information about entry requirements and recommended responses.
