Tracy Gomez, our Lead Community Navigator, embodies the transformative impact of Integrated Community's work.
Her journey began in 2000 when she arrived in Steamboat Springs as a second-grade student, unable to speak English. In 2004, as our organization was taking shape, we provided interpretation services that helped her family navigate life in their new country.
The support Tracy's family received left such a lasting impression that she began volunteering with us during her high school years. Her commitment grew as she became an interpreter through our training program. In a beautiful full-circle moment, Tracy joined our staff in 2022 and now serves as our Lead Community Navigator.
"I love this work because it allows me to provide the same compassionate support that meant so much to my family," Tracy shares. "When I see how a small effort can make such a big difference in someone's life - whether it's simply listening to their stories or helping them feel understood - it reminds me why this work is so important. Being able to relate to their experiences and understand the family dynamics they face makes our connections even more meaningful."
Tracy's story exemplifies our mission of fostering a unified, thriving community. Her transition from client to leader demonstrates the lasting impact of our services and the power of community support.
