Who does your organization serve? We serve both immigrant families and existing community members. We serve people from many backgrounds including: the United States, China, Honduras, Australia, Nicaragua, Japan, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and Poland. Our services bring immigrants and locals together, giving them the skills to better relate with one another to create a more united community.
What are your services?Our current programs are:
- In-home, flexible English classes taught by volunteers, making language education available to isolated populations and promoting integration and self-sufficiency
- Tutoring/Mentoring services for immigrant youth via a collaboration with Partners in Routt County
- Workshops on issues relevant to promoting civic responsibility, self-suficiency and legal compliance for immigrants
- Cultural exchange events which integrate immigrant and non-immigrant community members, fostering respect for immigrants through appreciation of their rich cultural heritage;
- Two weekly Spanish/English conversational and cultural exchange groups in Craig and Steamboat Springs
- A resource and referral service in Spanish and English for information and services in areas including immigration, cultural adjustment and integration
- Interpretation and translation services (Spanish, English, French)
- Cultural Competency trainings for nonprofits, businesses, and other organizations
From whom does the organization receive its funding?Integrated Community is supported by a variety of sources including: its clients, local businesses, Moffat and Routt County United Ways, private foundations, special events, individuals, its board of directors, and a small percentage from city and county government.
How can I get involved?Integrated Community is continually looking for volunteers to teach English classes, do English testing, make phone calls, assist with events, assist with organizational planning, and help in our office. We also greatly appreciate donations, as we are a 501c3 nonprofit organization and depend on the generosity of community members like you.
