Our workshops are designed to help the immigrant community understand “how things work here”, from how to navigate the health care system to their legal rights while leaving in the United States. We often partner with other non-profit organizations and businesses to provide these workshops. The workshops are usually offered in English, Spanish and French. Please contact us at 620-1513 if you would like more information, would like to request another language of interpretation, or would like to volunteer.

- Engaging films and pointed discussion around the use of interpretation services, disparities in health care, immigrants in the educational system and more
- Book clubs using literature that involves real stories and experiences of immigrants living in the United States
- Expert panels with panelists from particular countries who offer their time to answer questions about culture and your organizations’ work

Integrated Community is here to help both immigrant families and long time residents with questions and issues relating to culture, demographic change, living in a new country, etc. Some sample issues that we have assisted with include: “Can you help me make a doctor’s appointment for my daughter?” “Can you recommend some Spanish immersion courses outside of the United States?” “Do you know how my organization can market its services to the immigrant community?” “My husband has been deported. How do I find out where he is being held?”
Please contact us at (970) 620-1513, we’ll return the call in less than 24 hours. |

A collaborative program of Partners in Routt County and Integrated Community.
Bridges Mission statement: To support and provide the skills necessary for immigrant children to succeed in school and adjust to changes in their social and cultural environment through mentoring and language tutoring while increasing the cultural competency of their mentors. This program came about after a direct request from Steamboat Springs’ immigrant parents and guardians who wanted more resources to help their children succeed in school and adjust to their new lives in the United States. |
