Our mission is to proactively promote and support successful integration of immigrant and local community members in Northwest Colorado through education, intercultural exchange, and collaboration to build a more united community where its members can communicate, participate and contribute.

Goal of the Organization

Integrated Community’s goal is to strengthen our community through building respectful relationships between immigrant and local neighbors. We strive to create awareness of different cultures within our community and through our programs we break down the linguistic and systemic barriers that prevent our constituents from accessing services and resources in our community. We do this by providing education and support through Integrated Community’s (CIIC) three programs.

Programs      (for more detail please visit program pages in this website):

  •   RESOURCE & REFERRAL PROGRAM addresses the language, cultural and systemic barriers that are prevalent among immigrant families and limited English speakers in accessing and navigating the following areas:
    • Health and medical
    • Legal
    • Employment
    • Housing
    • Education
    • Immigration information and referrals
    • Youth
    • Marriage and divorce
    • Emergency assistance
    • Wage theft
    • Worker’s compensation
    • Domestic violence

(2261 intakes, 924 clients in 2016): the only program in the Yampa Valley that provides assistance to non-English speaking community members in the areas of medical, employment, housing, legal and other basic needs decreasing the workload of other human service agencies in the area. In 2016, we received Recognition with the U.S Department of Justice to provide limited immigration services.

We enhance human service agencies’ capacity to serve their immigrant constituency through language support and cultural training. We also extend bilingual troubleshooting, advocacy, mediation, education and case management services to immigrant constituents ranging from newborns to adults who have not attained proficiency in English.

  • INTERPRETATION and TRANSLATION(903 sessions, 536 clients, 301 providers in 2016): delivers subsidized medical interpretation services by professional interpreters contracted, managed and trained by CIIC. In 2016, we began 24/7 emergency on call interpreters for local law enforcement and crisis response agencies.
  • EDUCATION –  School Readiness, Study Friends, and Adult English Tutoring (58 adult students and 42 youth in 2016): the only in-home, one-on-one tutoring program offering English lessons to English Language Learners. Our “School Readiness” (49 students, ages 0-5) brings Newborn Network’s Bright By Three and Madres Enseñando into the homes of Spanish speaking families and a core curriculum to children accompanying parents attending Colorado Mtn.
